Your new BFF

Our animal assisted therapy team brings snuggly joy to people across Southwest Michigan.

The Big Furry Friends Animal Assisted Therapy Team is made up of more than 10 dog-human pairings available to deploy to a range of settings.

Each team undergoes at least 12 weeks of training, learning to enter a large range of environments and settings to deliver emotional and motivational support to all individuals. Each team member holds an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certificate, and is a member of Alliance Therapy Dog Association. Handlers are trained to become knowledgeable of their dog’s body language, stress indicators, and the environment around them.
